Temporary Vehicle Importation Permit for Mexico
If you plan to travel beyond the Mexico Free Zone or border zone, you will need to purchase a Mexican Temporary Vehicle Importation Permit, you can obtain this from Banjercito (Mexican authority) online or at the border.

Mexico Insurance is required
Many are not aware that Mexico Insurance is needed when driving into Mexico as a tourist. You will also want to protect your vehicle with Collision, Comprehensive, Theft, Travel Assistant, Legal Aid and Bail Bond Coverage.
